On this day in 1941, the Hamilton Division of the RCNVR is commissioned as HMCS STAR. On 23 September, 2023, the 100th anniversary year of the naval reserve, all naval reserve divisions were recommissioned.

On this date in 1923, Lt Ralph H. Yeates was appointed Commanding Officer of the Hamilton Half Company of the Royal Canadian Naval Reserve, making us the second oldest Naval Reserve Division in Canada. Happy 103rd birthday!
