In celebration of the Battle of Trafalgar in 1805 and arrival of HMCS NIOBE, Canada's first warship, in Halifax on Trafalgar Day, 21 October, 1910. Our guest speaker will be Mr. Shaun Padulo, President of Ontario Shipyards.

Our speaker for October's LWOTM (Last Wednesday of the Month) has yet to be determined.

On this day in 1941, the Hamilton Division of the RCNVR is commissioned as HMCS STAR. On 23 September, 2023, the 100th anniversary year of the naval reserve, all naval reserve divisions were recommissioned.

LCdr Kevin Ng, the 38th Commanding Officer of HMCS STAR, will be promoted to the rank of Commander by Captain(N) Sean Batte, the Central Region Captain.

Rear Admiral (Ret'd) Jennifer Bennett, National President of the Navy League of Canada, will be our guest speaker.

On this date in 1923, Lt Ralph H. Yeates was appointed Commanding Officer of the Hamilton Half Company of the Royal Canadian Naval Reserve, making us the second oldest Naval Reserve Division in Canada. Happy 103rd birthday!
