USS HAMILTON & SCOURGE Memorial
August 8 @ 18:00 – 20:00
We honour fifty-three sailors who lost their lives when their ships, HAMILTON and SCOURGE, capsized during a storm in the early morning hours of Sunday, 8th August 1813 during the War of 1812. These two armed merchant schooners lie in 90 meters of water, 30 kilometers northeast of this site, intact and perfectly preserved with their guns and equipment still in place. A replica of the foremast of SCOURGE is flanked by fifty-three markers similar to those in Allied military cemeteries throughout the world.

I have the Memorial date for 2023 as Aug 8 1800 is that right? RCNA Niagara will be attending-not sure of numbers yet but we may bring a wreath to lay along with a local cadet officer
Yes. August 8th is correct. More details closer to the date. You’ll be most welcome.
I think we may already be on your email list but just in case you can send notices to me as well
