The Hamilton Half Company RCNVR marching up James Street North past the intersection of King William Street on June 7th, 1939, in the parade to welcome King George VI and Queen Elizabeth who had arrived by train at what is now LIUNA Station. The visit was the occasion for the opening of the new Queen Elizabeth Way.
Who would have ever thought that in Canada we would have had to collect funds to support a sailor being railroaded and scapegoated by our own government?
