Apparently at one point up to the 1960s, there were two ex-navy vessels tied up at Port Dalhousie. It is possible that they were the corvettes BRANDON K149 & MORDEN K170, listed as being broken up in Hamilton in 1945 & 1946 respectively, but possibly sold before scrapping with the intent of using them in natural gas drilling in Lake Erie. Does anyone remember them?

Canada Day at HNVA
HNVA CANADA DAY CELEBRATIONS
All are welcome to attend. The Club opens at 11 am. There is a parade from the Parkdale Arena, 1770 Main Street East, to the Club at 1 pm.
Games for the children, a BBQ, and DJ will be running most of the day.
Sad News
It is with regret that we learned that Stephen Antenucci, husband of PO Leanne Price (Ret’d), was struck by a car and killed on May 18th while on a business trip to Pittsburgh. The STAR family grieves with Leanne and her children.
The visitation will be at Smith’s Funeral Home, 1167 Guelph Line, Burlington from 18:00 till 21:00 on Monday, 23 May and the funeral will be held at St. Christopher’s Anglican Church, 662 Guelph Line, Burlington on Tuesday, 24 May at 10:00.
