Copper one Gill rum measure

Received from Jack Germa, a Leading Seaman Radar Plotter in HMCS HAIDA 1958-1959. A gill (pronounced jill) is five ounces. A half gill of rum mixed with two gills of water formed the grog that was issued in the RCN until 30 March 1972 – Black Tot day.

A half gill measure along with the one gill, two of the complete set of eight which went up to one gallon.
